Overnight - Surprise!!!..........from Rico
Surprise menschen und komrads!!!
Belarus has CUT the value of its currency against the $Dollar by 36%!
- A Dollar now buys 4,930 roubles, slightly up from the 'offishul' rate of 3,155r - but well below the traded interbank rate of 7,000r.
The (am) line at the ATM says it all (if the empty shelves don't explain it clearly enough for you).
We're next.

ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, Md. (May 21, 2011) An aircraft carrier variant of the F-35C Joint Strike Fighter flies over Andrews Air Force Base, Md., during the Joint Service Open House. This is the first public appearance of a joint strike fighter aircraft at an air show. Lt. Cmdr. Eric "Magic" Buus piloted the aircraft. The F-35C is a fifth generation strike fighter with stealth capability and has larger wing surfaces and reinforced landing gear for the demanding carrier environment. The aircraft is undergoing test and evaluation at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. (U.S. Navy photo by Andy Wolfe courtesy of Lockheed Martin)

Greek Oracle............from Rico
No need to go to Delphi for a glimpse into our future sovereign debt crisis, BUT we should perhaps look to Greece.
Can you say "we're screwed?"
Greece's Papandreou is proposing:
- Higher property taxes
- Higher VAT (consumption) taxes
- Higher taxes on the self-employed
- Lower Gov't spending
- Lower wages
- Lower benefits
- Selling Greek assets
- the "missing link"
The "missing link" is the Governmental confiscation of privat pension/retirement funds.
- It's happening now (just ask the Irish, Argentinians, Hungarians...) and yes, "it CAN happen here" (w/a nod to Sinclair Lewis). It's something Governments do NOT like to talk about openly. Might cause public upset, and well.....er, riots you know. That sort of thing.

The Auschwitz Lines: 1967 is 1948..............by Dan Friedman
As Doug Ross points out so graphically here, Obama “doubled down” at AIPAC today and restated his insistence that the 1967 lines (i.e., the 1948 armistice lines) be the basis for Arab-Israeli negotiations going forward. This time, however, Obama added a note of mystery to buttress his argument. According to the AP Obama said “his call for a future Palestine based on the 1967 borders with agreed land swaps was a public expression of what has long been acknowledged privately.” This seems to be a new meme Obama & co is trying to spread – which the liberal lame stream media has already started to propagate. How it can motivate Netanyahu to make “peace” with a Hamas-PLO “state” defies common sense. If every “private” conversation between Israel and the Arabs (whose substance is rejected by the Arabs) becomes part of Obama’s “basis” for a solution to the conflict, and then used against Israel to justify more concessions, Netanyahu should be read his Miranda rights before sitting down with the Arabs... Hey Jew! Everything you say can and will be used against you by the White House, the State Dept and your enemies. Better still, it should warn Bibi to avoid Obama’s trap altogether and just stay away.
Netanyahu speaks at AIPAC later today, and to Congress on Tuesday. If past performance is any indication of future results, I’m guessing we’ll start seeing cracks in the Jewish leader who taught Obama the facts of Jewish life on Friday. I sincerely hope I’m wrong.

There's No One as Irish as Barack O'Bama 2012 - Corrigan Brothers
This blog has lot to do with our friends The Corrigan Brothers success. To spare their blushes I won't publish the original version of the song that they sent me 3 years ago. But you can see it HERE. After much persuasion they re-recorded it as the huge hit which now doubt will be played a lot today.
I hope that they and the residents of Moneygall enjoy their day in on the world stage.
