Time to Face Reality
The reckoning is coming in 2012. Folks always say this election is "the most important election in my lifetime." I usually don't, but with the credit downgrade and America's military abusively stretched thin around the globe, my normal optimism is found wanting.
Progressivism is killing us.

They were mainly bogus, and none challenged the 'mark-to-fantasy' accounting of all the toxic assets [read: worthless, and less-than-worthless] being carried at conflated figures on their books.

1. COMEX (affectionately known as CRIMEX by sentient beings) regularly and blatantly manipulates the paper 'spot' markets for precious metals. After all, in a futures/options world where you are 'betting' on future commodity prices, what better way to "win" than to rig the game?
- Anyone remember Andrew McCarthy's testimony? Never heard of it? Understood. Amy Winehouse and other important (and distracting) 'news' was covered more extensively.
Demonstrating "the Chicago way" roughly 4.926 million tons of 'paper' silver was deposited to SLV yesterday. Look at what happened to the COMEX.
- Anyone seen ANY regulators from the SEC around? Nawww, I thought not. Manipulation? What manipulation?
2. SOCIAL SECURITY also demonstrates "the Chicago way" nicely. Your mis-Administration running low on money? No problemo dude, we'll just 'cook' the books and take it outta Grannie's and Grampa's hide. They'll never figure this one out! Besides, we're the Government, what are they gonna do?
Nope, NO inflation here so no need to 'adjust' SocSec! We all know that the prices of food, fuel, etc aren't increasing...oh, wait, those items aren't figured into the inflation index...and a 'chained' index actually reduces the numbers anyway. Huzzah!!
- Anyone notice the suspiciously FLAT lines on this chart? Yeah, the ones that coincide with Bonny Barry's regency. Nice, huh? Again, manipulation? What manipulation?

Line Of Departure WoW
As best understood unbridled self-aggrandizement can often create funintended consequences. Yours truly is an admittedly suspect example of such.
When the great Carl Prine's Line of Departure indulged in shameless hoochiefication avec moi Daily Beast described it (thanks Mr Sullivan!) as hooking up foreign affairs chiz with hot girls.
Truly, if that was all that was needed, then Maxim Mag could have hired Capt Glick, Tom Ricks, maybe even the sad league of corrupt amoral realists like stereomonger Fred Kaplan or the cat from Weenie Hut Juniors eons past to gold dig it.
Simply put - ppl are writing great things and saying great things - and just lucky perhaps - blessed/cursed via possessing a ginourmous, ravenous intellect - GsGf must know.
Carl offered a great cuts both ways op to dabble in brain bigger making exercises and therein lies the rub - as the cherry popping about as subtle as wearing a thong to church debut piece for LoD showcases - the potentiality for table dancing in a minefield is fraught with frightful risk.
Which may or may not (truly - who can say?) segue into WoW - the Watchers Council. It's the oldest, longest running cyber comte d'guere ensembe in existence - an eclective collective of cats both cruel and benign with their ability to put steel on target (figuratively - natch) on a wide variety of topictry across American, Allied, Frenemy and Enemy concerns, memes, delights and discourse.
