As I’ve noted before, reports of the death of European culture are premature. Europeans will return to their roots and repel the encroachment of Islam in European societies. They’ve done it before. The French and the Germans have already thrown down their gauntlets, banning the burqa and declaring multiculturalism a failure. Now the Greeks seem to be stirring too. So when will we wake up? That’s anyone’s guess, but it won’t come before the reign of Obama ends.

Here is a small 'example' of it.

My telephone bill went up. Not by a lot, but enough to notice. Being curious, and aware that I had done nothing unusual or untoward (like placing an operator-assisted call to thre moon to converse with Michelle who was reputed to be there on 'vacation' using one of our newly retired Space Shuttles), I looked more closely at my bill.
AHA!!! There, buried in the very 'fine' print and almost invisible, was the answer:
- The Federal fee increased July 1st to "subsidize low-income families."
Well, don't I feel better knowing that at least my TAX didn't go up....it was only a "FEE" that went up....and I guess I'm not low-income enough, so I can subsidize the 'common good' more than I had already been doing.
- Someone has to pay for those 'free' government-provided cell phones for the poor.
When there are more pie-takers eating the "free pie" than there are pie-makers, you run out of pie and the pie-eaters riot. Winston Churchill had it absolutely correct when he said "There are two places where Socialism will work; in Heaven where it is not needed, and in Hell where they already have it."

The current coupla-days of bear raids on Gold (precious metals [read: Silver] are plainly in honour of the Sep options expiry this week [Thursday 8-25] on the COMEX, as well as Benny of the Fed's anticipated Jackson Hole speach [Friday 8-26] regarding the Fed's next steps on currency debasement.
Run! Panic! Flee into the safety of the equities markets, FRN's and government bonds [read: debt, IOU's, counterparty risk writ large].
This happens like clockwork, but it's only 'coincidence' that it is always at COMEX expiry dates.
No, the markets are not 'rigged' so move along now, nothing to see here!
- Go back to sleep now sheeple retail investors....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The "official" TARP bailout number was broadcast [spread-around like manure] as....drumroll...$160 billion dollars!
HUGE number, right?
Well, just not as big a number as the REAL number. The actual figure was $1.2 trillion. Trillion. That's quite a difference between what they "said" and what they "did"...makes you wonder what else they are lying their asses off about.
