Similes to spice up your conversations........
Quicker than a fifth grade recess
Slicker than the devil in velvet pants.
Standing there like a heifer in heat.
Faster than Teddy Kennedy could leave the scene of a car wreck.
Harder than Chinese arithmetic.
Tighter than a gnat's ass stretched over an oil drum.
Smarter than a tree full of owls.
Excited as Oprah on all you can eat rib night.
Tougher than a 10-year-old rooster.
Uglier than a dead monkey in moonlight.
Excited as Barney Frank watching Brokeback Mountain.
Hornier than a three-balled tomcat.
Drunker than a gold toothed cowboy on Saturday night.
Easier than selling Girl Scout cookies to your grandmother.

Why does the canary not sing?............from Rico
Call it a canary in a coal mine.
FDIC is opening a 'new' satellite office in Chicago. It will handle receiverships and liquidate assets from failed banks in the Midwest.
This office will occupy seven of eleven floors of a buiding. Over 100,000 square feet for 500 bodies.
This is a HUGE expenditure!
Must be more "recovery" being anticipated.
There is no chirping.
Silence.

Golden Soros - Safe Haven...........from Rico
I suppose everyone is so fixated on watching Olympic figure-skaters in Vancouver they have "forgotten" George Soros saying that gold was "the ultimate asset bubble" in Davos at the World Economic Forum.
- Message to the sheeple: Run! Panic! Flee! Hide! Buy fiat Dollars! Go 'long' US Bonds! "Flight to safety" sagely parroted by the financial and other media.
And while the common wan was doing his best to emulate a panic-stricken French soldier, our clever boots "Mr. I-hate-capitalism-and-America Soros" in fact DOUBLED his golf ETF holdings
by silently adding $421 million dollars!
Yeah, the Dollar is a "safe haven" all right! US Government debt is "safer" yet! Look at the charts and decide for yourselves. Don't be a mug, a shnook!

Head's UP!..............from Rico
Head's UP everybody!
More "bailouts" on the way.
Forget all about those notional/fictional "green shoots of recovery" being flung at you like poo by the media monkeys! In fact, ducking would be a very GOOD idea.
It isn't going to happen!
With more jobs being lost and no jobs being created (except Berry's teleprompter), there won't be any recovery (consumer-led, or other) soon.
- Look at the 'next' wave of unemployed that will need a bailout (and bear in mind, most states unemployment funds are not only 'broke' but on the government dole as well by now).
Another "bailout" will be needed.
Factor into this the fact that nearly one-third of people 55-or-older have less than $10K saved for their retirement.
- This may end very badly for them.

Contract from America vote...
Please vote for the final 10 to be included in the Contract from America. I suggested one of them, guess which, and was pleased to see it make the final 20. Its not quite America idol and slightly more important.

Jenga. All is well...............from Rico
Having played "Jenga" more than once, I feel qualified to SWAG what the outcome will be.
Not good.
It will not be the "all is well" (imagine Kevin Bacon saying this towards the conclusion of the classic "Animal House") as the Pelosi-reid congress, the Ministry of Truth and the Red Shed are saying.
Most Western governments are drowning in debt, running 'unprecedented' budget deficits, and printing fiat currency as fast as humanly possible.
It would be prudent now to remember the words of Alan Blinder, former FED Chairman:
"The last duty of a central banker is to tell the public the truth."
