President Obama is doing exactly what he decried in 2008: making a big election about small things, talking about Big Bird, binders, and bayonets. It's clear President Obama can't defend his record and he's flat out of ideas to get our economy going.

As you may have noticed, I've been taking time off from political photo blogging. I've been using my time and energy elsewhere, like landscaping (right now that landscaping includes an enormous Romney sign.)
A couple of days ago, Mrs. El Marco made a contest video using iMovie. I was her cameraman. The Travelocity Roaming Gnome is giving away a 4 continent round the world trip for two. The contest will be judged largely by votes from the public.
The grand prize goes to the best video explaining why the entrant should be nabbed (like the original garden gnome was before he became an icon for Travelocity.) If you have a moment, I'd sure appreciate it if you would log on, register, and vote for our video. It's funny and cute, and we think it's by far the best contest entry.
Finalists are chosen largely by votes from the public, and no doubt there will be people who figure out a smart way to get inordinate numbers of votes (vote early and often?) One vote a day per person is allowed. Thanks in advance if you can take the time to do this just once, or daily between now and October 27, and help us win this round-the-world adventure.
Make sure to uncheck the second check box on the REGISTER window to avoid getting emails from Travelocity.
Regards
Mr and Mrs El Marco

While Zo thinks that President Obama performed better in the third and final debate, he still failed to beat Governor Mitt Romney. Hear why on this Zo Nation.

After many years of PRP (personal reliability profiling) and various other 'head-shrinking' done on those of us who were "Company Men" I now carefully avoid these types of 'profiling' tests in my retirement.
- I mean, what's the point now? Besides, I think I have a pretty good handle on who I am and what I think by now...well, I thought I did.
There was something intriguing about the thesis that Left-Right axis was not really good enough to delineate political persuasion, but that another axis (authoritarian-libertarian) in combination with the former would provide a 3D picture by using both axes in tandem. The thesis is more sophisticated than any I ever heard at University, and I haven't really run across anything quite like this since.
- First I 'looked' just to 'see' the questions. I was curious, I'll admit.
- Looking 'hooked' me, and I took the test.
I was not surprised to land near Milton Friedman, nor was it surprising to be pretty far away from Bobby Mugabe (ptah! ptoeey!) although it was admittedly a big relief!
- If your interest is piqued, you can find this 'political compass' test at the Silver Bear Cafe blog:

Paid for by RightChange.com, Inc. President Obama and his administration have failed to give the American public clear answers on the terrorist attack that happened on 9/11 in Benghazi, Libya. This is a timeline of the events that occurred surrounding the attack on U.S. soil at our consulate in Libya. It's been 40 + days since the attack with no clear answers and no clear leadership from President Obama.

From the masthead:
“The Jewish Press is the largest independent weekly Jewish newspaper in the United States. For over five decades now The Jewish Press has championed Torah values and ideals from a centrist or Modern Orthodox perspective.”
From today’s Jewish Press editorial endorsing Romney:
“Mr. Obama came into office determined to significantly alter downward the decades-long special relationship between the U.S. and Israel ... but that he was forced to put his intentions on hold following serious pushback from Jewish leaders and Democratic Party allies.”
“We fear that once he is freed from reelection concerns, the president in a second term will resume the tough talk to Israel and the disturbing policies of his earlier months in office that, if implemented, would result in a truncated and weakened Israel and an empowered Muslim world.”
“Mr. Obama’s recent dissembling over the Benghazi disaster is only the latest in a series of foreign policy mishaps that taken together only serve to increase our unease.”
“On the domestic front, the economy remains listless, the unemployment rate is a national disgrace, and the national debt is spiraling out of control.”
“...whether one chooses to focus on the U.S. relationship with Israel, on Washington’s dealings with other countries around the world, or on the state of the American economy, Mitt Romney is the person to bring a sorely needed breath of fresh air to the White House.”

I'm old enough to remember having watched the original "Rocky & Bullwinkle" show, and one of their shtiks was for Bullwinkle to say "watch me pull a rabbit out of this hat" and every time he pulled something different out of the magic hat (a lion, whatever)...but never a rabbit.
Our affirmative-action/minority quota set-aside Barry keeps pullin a "fix" for the US economy out of his magic hat, but no matter what they put on his teleprompter for him to recite he always pulls anything BUT a "fix" out of his magic hat. Why?
- I think it is a combination of his being reality-challenged and not being all that bright.
Goerge Orwell said it better than I ever could: "Political language...is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectful, and give an appearance of solidity to pure wind."

Last Tuesday President Obama got off the helicopter in front of The White House carrying a baby piglet under each arm.
The squared-away Marine guard snapped to attention, saluted and said:
"Nice pigs, sir.
" The President replied: "These are not pigs.
These are authentic Arkansas Razorback Hogs. I got one for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and I got one for Nancy Pelosi."
The squared-away Marine again snapped to attention, salutes and said,
"Excellent trade, Sir."

White House Was Told Benghazi was a Terrorist Attack Two Hours Into the Battle
Posted By Bryan Preston
Two hours. 120 minutes. Just one-third of the way into the six-hour battle. That’s how soon officials in the Obama White House had been told that the assault in Benghazi was a terrorist attack.

It seems President Obama has been engaged in gun-walking on a massive scale. The effect has been to equip America's enemies to wage jihad not only against regimes it once claimed were our friends, but inevitably against us and our allies, as well. That would explain his administration's desperate, and now-failing, bid to mislead the voters through the serial deflections of Benghazigate.
