Alas ever Bones run out of flying hours (as did the C-141) and have to be retired but fear not, their usable bits keep the rest of the fleet flying. It's what AMARC does. The B-52s are older models being verifiably guillotined in the open for the benefit of Russian recon satellites as part of an arms reduction agreement. But it's always sad to see any plane reduced to produce.

Wow. The USAF boneyard is probably the second most powerful Air Force in the world.
B-1's are new. They had better stop. These might be needed to go out for Chinese.
Awesome bone yard
go to google maps (or google earth) and enter
32°09'06.79" N 110°49'55.90" W
and you can check it all out.
pretty good resolution too.
If you could get em all up and running it would probably be the most powerful Air Force in the world.
They scrapped the C141, that was my baby for 2 years, a few years ago. The bastards!!!
Go in person and the resolution beats GOOGLE.
