Saber Rattling

"Will you continue to acquiesce to the corruption of a criminal mafia hiding behind the robes of goodness and mercy? Wolves in sheep's clothing who steal your freeborn birthrights; abscond with your Liberties: not like a thief in the dark of night, but as quislings and scoundrels looting in broad daylight daring any of us to declare their treacherous perfidy null and void; challenging us to repeal our impoverishment. We are taunted with distortions and crooked deals, our freedoms have been mocked." Friend Fuchs

Decline of the Republic....from Rico

I have often noted, and commented upon, the similarities of the rise and decline of Rome to the current American rise and decline...usually to reflect upon the debasement of their respective currencies.
- This time I'd like to look at it differently (call it "change").

The debasement of a currency is merely the reflection, the mirroring, the symptom of the decline of a Republic into a Socialist Democracy.
- "...a Republic, if you can keep it." B. Franklin

Look at these two charts in THIS perspective, then tell me "but, it's 'different' this time."
- Yeah. Right. Sure it is.

I think instead of watching State Media News (The Ministry of Truth) I will re-view that classic "I, Claudius" and marvel at how Brian Blessed and cast so uncannily forecast and captured the essence of what we are seeing today....right down to mad Caligula!
- Some things never do seem to change.

Marriage Quips...............

Quip 1: Marriages are made in heaven, but so again are thunder and lightning.
Quip 2: If you want your spouse to listen and pay strict attention to every word you say, talk in your sleep.
Quip 3: Marriage is grand — and divorce is at least 100 grand!
Quip 4: Married life is very frustrating. In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak and the neighbours listen.
Quip 5: When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure of one thing: Either the car is new or the wife is.
Quip 6: Marriage is when a man and woman become as one; the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.
Quip 7: Before marriage, a man will lie awake all night thinking about something you said. After marriage, he will fall asleep before you finish.
Quip 8: Every man wants a wife who is beautiful, understanding, economical, and is a good cook, but the law allows only one wife.
Quip 9: Every woman wants a man who is handsome, understanding, economical and a considerate lover, but again, the law allows only one husband.
Quip 10: Man is incomplete until he marries. After that, he is finished.

Tea Party Burnout or just catching its breath?

I ask that over at PJM. Can the tea party movement stand the failure that was their last battle against Obamacare?

Happy ending?...............from Rico

Unlike some massages where you can expect a "happy ending" do not expect one in the fiscal sense.

US debt is NOT going down. The money supply is vastly increased, and increasing.

The money being printed ad infinitum by the "Fed" is NOT going into business growth, but is being used to buy US Government debt.

Expect an ending very close to Shakespeare's "Scottish Play"..."Bubble bubble, toil and trouble" will be the least of our concerns...

Let's see...since the US debt is NOT going down any time soon (rather, it just increased by another trillion or so, thank you Nazi Pelosi & Company the other day) I would "deem" it safe to say the US Dollar is NOT a very safe haven. Hmmmm, I wonder IF gold is "reconciled" to that? Look at the final chart attached and decide for yourself.

Mother Health Update............

I would like to thank all those who gave great advice and best wishes to my mother. She has now been emergency admitted to the Queen Eliabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn. Sadly this hospital has just finished a visitor 'lock down' due to an out break of a Novovirus.

Welcome to state funded healthcare.

Firearms Deaths Fall as Millions Obtain Permits to Carry Concealed Guns

"Attorney Jim Corley was one of four people in the room, the lounge area of a 12-step recovery group’s meeting hall. “He said, ‘Give me your wallet,’” Corley recalled. “So I reached around to my back pocket and gave him what was there.”

"Unfortunately for the gunman, later identified as Kayson Helms, 18, of Edison, N.J., that was Corley’s tiny Kel-Tec .32, hidden in a wallet holster and loaded with a half-dozen hollow points. Corley fired once into the robber’s abdomen. The young man turned. Corley fired twice more, hitting him in the neck and again in the torso. Helms ran into the night and collapsed to die on a railroad embankment 100 feet away."

That's how we do things 'round these parts, son. Don't piss off a recovering lawyuh!

VBS TV: The Indy Mile........

The Indy Mile is the oldest contest for motorcycle racing’s oldest discipline: dirt track. You’ve seen this stuff on TV before—it’s that extremely loud track party that has your dad and uncles screaming at the tube through the haze of Camel smoke and Old Milwaukee fumes and your mother annoyed or mortally frightened. In other words: it is fucking excellent. The race itself is physically grueling, with madmen looping around a mile-long oval track and sliding into turns at around 70 miles per hour—in general, looking like the trifling laws of physics don’t really apply. Competitors travel across the country all year competing for rewards that barely cover travel expenses, so in this episode of Americana we thought we’d take you to Indianapolis, Indiana, to investigate what motivates these beastly riders and to celebrate everything it is they do and stand for.
