Actually the tri-hull concept testbed that this design is based on was built by Vosper Thornycraft.
The USN helped fund the testbed...
Having served it's purpose as a research wessel, RV Triton has been contracted out to the Australian Customs Service.
Sadly, the Royal Navy will be lucky if it is left with a rowboat.
Correct designation: PCU Independence. USS is not used until the ship is placed in commision.
