We'll be seeing more reports like this as the U.S. and NATO rotate out of Afghanistan. Even at ten years in, there's much work to be done. The terrorists at the clip are likely Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a militant organization allied to Mullah Omar, who was the Supreme Leader in Afghanistan prior to the initial rout of the Taliban during Operation Enduring Freedom. Mullah Omar in turn was closely linked to Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda. This is why we fight.

No. You fight because Bush and Co
sucked the West into a pointless war against Iraq, then thought they could divert attention away from the "oops, no WMD" problem with a conflict against Muslim madmen who have defeated every invading army since who knows when. The American "withdrawal" becomes "yet another US Foreign Policy blunder and military defeat" in the next few years and the Muslims will be writing the histories. You fight because your population is poorly educated and through a bizarre two party system elects Presidents who really shouldn't be running the local drug store let alone the USA. You fight because you celebrate Celebrity over Achievement. And you fight because you don't have the guts/ruthlessness to win. I say this as a friend of America.
