It was in the 40's F this am when I took the dog for a walk. It's still cold mid-day, but might make 70 before repeating this pattern through the weekend.
- So? the 30-degree temperature swings are one marker for the coming first frost. Possibly in a week or so now.
The Starbucks crowd is reportedly swarming to get their Pumpkin Spice Latte's in reaction to the cooling weather.
- Fair disclosure: I've never been in a Starbucks and intend to never enter one. I had a cup of Starbucks on a flight many moons ago, and it was as notably a crappy coffee as it is rumored to be overpriced.
There are far better options!
I have some British Navy Rum* and am enjoying a wonderful Hot Rum Toddy [rum-butter,brown sugar & hot water...but none of that ghey lemon,cinnamon stick,tea stuff thank you very much].
*When the Admiralty stopped the British Navy's daily rum ration in 1970, they had long before stopped using the lash, (leaving only the buggery part of their naval tradition...although it's said Starbucks and the people of Portland have embraced sodomy enthusiastically) Pusser's Ltd in the BVI began making British Navy rum from the original Royal Navy recipe.
