We possess a unique skill set and we perform a vital service. Like professional athletes, we are paid exactly what we are worth and it is never enough - for example: try to get a life insurance policy in this line of work.

Movie Review: 'Sherlock Holmes'
Should I see it?
Yes, but yes in the same way you should go eat a box of McNuggets - don't go expecting grandma's turkey dinner.

It just keeps getting better............from Rico
Green shoots of recovery. Obama-Soetero 'saved' the economy. Unemployment is almost beaten. Dollar-cost averaging is still a good idea. We're all better off than we were.
Just tune to your choice of Nanny-State media outlets and be deluged with "good news!" from the Ministry of Truth. Pablum intended for the clueless who live in never-never land.
For the decade just ended:
- The S&P 500 is down 24%
- Real home values are down 3%
- The US Dollar is down 23%
- Unemployment is back to 1980-levels (no lie)
And 2010 will be worse!
- Factor in the unfunded liabilities (like Social Security and Medicare) and the debt-ratio jumps to 1,000%...and that's before "Wealth Reform", errrrr "Health Reform."
- Compare this to the Great Depression numbers.
Given the choice between what is good for the politicians (good politics) and what is good for the people (good economics), you probably have a pretty shrewd guess by now which will be chosen by our eternally-running-for-election politicians, don't you?
- This is possibly why the non-clueless are investing in bullion, and guns & ammo.
Whatever happens, it's gonna really hurt and leave a mark!
- Be prepared as the Boy Scouts say.

UPPING THE ANTE

The final chapter of 2009 was written by the enemy:
6 CIA Operators killed by 'Afghan soldier'
". . . worst against US intelligence officials since 1983."
5 Canadians killed in Afghanistan
Five Canadians — four soldiers and a Calgary Herald reporter — were killed in a bomb blast Wednesday in Afghanistan . . . a Canadian civilian was also wounded in the attack at about 4 p.m. local time.
Afghan Insurgents Seize 2 French Journalists
KABUL, Dec 31 (Reuters) - Insurgents kidnapped two French journalists, their translator and driver northeast of the Afghan capital, a police official said on Thursday.

2010 ----Tempus Fugit A Handbook for Living
HANDBOOK 2010
Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants..
4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy
5. Pray.
6. Play more games.
7. Read more books than you did in 2009.
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
9. Sleep for 7 hours.
10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.
Personality:
11. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13.. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23. Smile and laugh more.
24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
Society:
25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything.
28. Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
Life:
32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come.
38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
39. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy.

Fiddling around............from Rico
Nero is 'famous' for fiddling while Rome burned. Few are aware that when nero debased the silver standard of Rome, he didn't simply 'clip' the coins. He left the denarias pure silver on the outside, and made them copper-silver on the inside.
Nero 'hid' his activites, much like today...we still do not 'know' all of the details of what took place in the bailout of the financial industry.
- The Fed refuses to tell us, they'll never be audited, and Ben-the-bearded keeps printing more greenbacks (debasing the dollar).
See any similarities?
Not like Washingtoon is 'fiddling around' here, right?
- Hmmmmm...I think I actually DO smell smoke in the air.
Well our savvy and no-nonsense Congress simply says "nothing to see here, move along now" while considering TARP 2.0...yes, another bailout is being bandied about.
- Just because the original TARP's +$700 bn was never used for its purported original purpose is no reason not to extend it! Besides, you still might have some CHANGE left in your pockets, schnooks, and they HOPE to get that too!
