You can't touch this!!...........from Rico

C'mon Ben & Barry!

Grab your parachute pants out of the closet and prance a few 'victory laps' around Jimmy Carter's record while singing "You Can't Touch This" to the M.C. Hammer song!!!!!!

Jimmuh HAS to be green with envy! His four years of 'stagflation' simply cannot 'touch' .....er plumb the depths, actually of what you boys have achieved in only TWO years!!!

Inflation? Nawwwwww....say it ain't SO.
- Cotton is UP in price about 1% for every day into 2011 so far, and it's UP 95% from Sept 2010. Annualized, the YTD increase is 1,512%! Nope, no inflation here. Nobody here except us "progressive" Keynesian chickens!

Here are a few more non-inflationary bits for you to consider:
- Unemployment is close to 25%
- Food stamp use is UP 35%
- Gas is UP 69%
- Corn is UP 98% [huzzah ethanol]
- sugar is up 164%

Even the 'dimwitted-but-well-meaning' Peanut Farmer couldn't do THIS....it took an imbecile Marxist Community Organizer!

The best is yet to come though folks, so stick around for what's just ahead. If you 'liked' Carter, you're just gonna 'LOVE' Barry's next act!

Rep. Michele Bachmann: 'This is Outrageous, Beyond Conscionable'

Jeff Poor has the full report at Daily Caller.

Rep. Bachmann hammers both the derelict Wisconsin public unions and the Obama-Democrat-OFA thugs now raping the democracy:

“They have the support of the White House, but I don’t believe they have the support of the people of Wisconsin,” Bachmann said. “Remember what we’re talking about. These are public servants. They serve the people of Wisconsin. In Greece, for instance, we saw beneficiaries of government checks who took to the streets because the retirement age was going to be raised from 61 to 63. In this instance, [Fox Business Network host] Eric Bolling was on earlier, showing this is simply a contribution being asked to pay for part of their health insurance, not even the full part that the private sector counterparts pay for, and part of their pension. This is something that happens every day in the private sector. So now we are at the tipping point. This debate needed to come. It’s good that it came. What’s shocking is that the White House is weighing in, taking sides, and bringing in a campaign apparatus to set this up.

These folks are from International Socialist Organization, revolutionary Trotskyites committed to global anti-capitalist struggle. What's fascinating is how the lady speaks about how "all of our members" are up every morning organizing for the dictatorship of the proletariat. Nir Rosen, From The Penthouse to The Dog House.............by Dan Friedman

It doesn’t matter what they say as long as they talk about you.

--PR adage

Consider yourself lucky if you never heard of an American “journalist” named Nir Rosen. The thirty-something Rosen had a nice career going. In spite of, or because of, his outspoken far-left hatred for “imperialist” America and a “blight” called Israel, Rosen was sought after, and not one of Rosen’s big time media or academic patrons ever complained - until Rosen crossed a liberal redline and lost his immunity. Seems like his flaming-red bile got out of control and boiled over onto sacred ground a few days ago, and it’s Rosen who’s in hot water now.

Rosen’s mortal sin was a few Twitter tweets making light of the brutal sexual assault and beating CBS war correspondent Lara Logan sustained in Cairo during pro-democracy celebrations. That’s already cost him a prestigious fellowship at NYU and The Atlantic, who as recently as last December used Rosen as an authoritative source, has of late dropped a ton of bricks on his head. Of course, rueful Rosen has already hit the apology circuit trying to redeem himself, but the cat is already out of the bag.

How ironic. How cruel. Years of Marxist-Leninist vitriol make you a literati star but just step over the faux feminist line once and they drop you like a hot potato. Well, that’s show biz.

Where is John Bolton when we so badly need him?

Denounce Israel in the UN? Even Jimmuh Carter never achieved a betrayal THAT low....we should all be denouncing and renouncing this pretender Soetoro, Obama, whatever you call him.

Iraq Update by DJ Elliott.........

Sound familiar? I seem to remember writing about this a few times over the last years...
Iraq war: why US military withdrawal might not happen in 2011

One congressman suggested Thursday that the politically acceptable size of the force that would remain in Iraq “could be 20,000.”

Top Pentagon officials said Thursday that the Iraqi government shares some of their concerns.
“There have been a number of informal conversations with the Iraqis about this,” Defense Secretary Robert Gates told the Senate Armed Services Committee.During these talks, the Iraqi government indicated that it “is very open to a continuing presence that would be larger where we could help the Iraqis for a period of time,” Mr. Gates said.

Three concerns He cited three primary areas of US concern with Iraqi military operations as the Pentagon prepares for the pullout of its troops by the year’s end:
• The Iraqi military's ability to exploit intelligence it collects
• Its capabilities with logistics and maintenance of its vehicles.
• The burgeoning Iraqi Air Force's ability to protect its own air space.
“I’m not actually concerned about the stability of the country,” Gates told the committee. “But I am concerned about their ability to address these issues in particular.”

Congress on board, probablyFor its part, Congress seems increasingly braced for the request to extend US troop presence in Iraq. “I think it's also obvious that the Iraqi military doesn't have a lot of the technological capability that they need to combat to this kind of insurgency that is still out there,” Sen. John McCain, the committee's top Republican, said in Thursday’s hearing.

On this matter, there seems to be some bipartisan consensus. In a breakfast with the Center for Media and Security earlier in the day, Rep. Adam Smith, the House Armed Services Committee’s top Democrat, said it is “highly likely” that the Iraqi government will request US troops to stay.

“I’d be very surprised” if that didn’t happen,” he added. Congressman Smith estimated that the number of US troops likely to be requested to stay in the country “is not going to be” as high as 50,000 – the current US troop level – but “could be 20,000.” He said that these US troops “could just be trainers” for the Iraqi military.

Whether Congress will back such a request “depends” on how many troops senior US defense officials request stay in the country. Congress is likely open to a number in range of 20,000 US troops, but if the Pentagon asks for as many as 50,000 troops to remain, Smith said, “We might have a problem with that.”

Spreading it around?..............from Rico

These charts are openly available, but outside the government (which surely is aware of the data) not commonly discussed or noted in the public domain.

Why? Well, LOOK at them for a minute. This is exacgtly what inflation looks like, and the conclusions that can be drawn are not only NOT good, but that "we the people" have been conned. Snookered. Hoodwinked. Sold some very expensive snake oil.
- In a word: screwed.

Take away this thought (remember Obama-Soetoro's exchange with Joe the plumber about spreading the wealth around?):
- Inflation itself IS a transfer of wealth.

Decoding global warming stories...........from the Daily Bayonet

A handy cut-out and keep guide to phrases frequently used in global warming news stories, and what they really mean:

“since records began” - since 1850 if using observed data, or about 1980 if using satellite data

“might, may, could, perhaps” - we can say anything is happening if we put enough modifiers in front of it

“experts say” - (a) we’re an NGO in need of funding or (b) I’m a scientist in need of funding

“science is settled” - stop asking questions, we know better than you skeptics/deniers/cranks/scary people

“consensus of scientists” - the wisdom of crowds is all we have left, so SHUT UP

“CO2 pollution” - your high school science teacher lied about CO2 being plant food

“increasing global population” - pesky developing nations are demanding cars and appliances. The horror.

“sustainable development” - subsidies now, or the planet gets it

“raising awareness” - hippies doing something daring or stupid for attention

“cooling caused by warming” – hey, you believed everything else we said, why stop now?
