No day at the beach.....................from Rico
While Santa may be enjoying his days at the beach, it is no 'day at the beach' for the Japanese consumer.
- Japanese stimulus (aka 'Abenomics') is 'inflationary' and 'deflationary' at the same time, and therein may be a lesson for the US.
This stimulus when related to Yen devaluation (just as the Fed is devaluing the USD, btw), forces the Japanese consumer to spend more for food and energy while cutting-back on other spending.
Looking at the attached graph, when not including food and energy, there is very little 'inflation'...at least 'officially.'
- Savers and pensioners are the hardest hit by rising food and energy costs while the Yen simultaneously loses purchasing power.
Sound familiar America?
- Unless you are already at the beach, it's becoming very hard to get there.

These numbers don't lie.....................from Rico
Unlike the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Government Accounting Office, GDP, .....well Hell, ANY 'official' numbers these days which have all been washed-rinsed-cooked-baked-massaged-rigged and jiggered to render them completely useless and meaningless rather like the USG and Congress are, sorry I digress..... but NOT these numbers.
Always. go. bacon.

What You Don't Know.......................from Rico
There has been, and is, a lot of ink (virtual and literal) ink wasted discussing the Fed's 100th anniversary.
Almost none of it addresses the Federal Reserve System being just as 'federal' as Federal Express.
- The Fed is a privately-owned, for-profit Bank with NO reserves and NO government 'ownership'....just ask the Rockefeller's, Warburg's and Rothschild's et al if you don't believe me.
- At least FedEx delivers the goods...the Fed just takes them.
And NONE of it will tell you that since 23 Dec 1913, the Fed has 'given' the US 18 recessions/depressions, that the value of the USD has plunged by 98%, or that the US National Debt has increased by 5000 times.
- Look at this list of prices/costs from 1938 and compare it to what you are 'paying' now in devalued Dollars for the very same things. This is the 'invisible tax' of inflation that Maynard Keynes famously said not one in a million will ever see.
Americans today largely do NOT know what the Fed is (no matter how you define 'is') or how it functions, much less why. What you do not know will destroy you.
- Firmly entrenched and fiercely protected, the Fed must be laughing at weak protestations to 'end the Fed' since it is doing a far superior job of ending the US!

Making Obamacare Cool?!? Hear the Latest Bad Healthcare Idea
Young people are not interested in enrolling in Obamacare. Some have suggested making Obamacare cool. Is this even possible, and will Obamacare "cool" encourage the young and uninsured to sign-up for Obama's signature health care plan? Find out.

A genie grants Barack Obama one wish! (Political Humor)...from TPC
Political humor that has Barack Obama being granted one wish by a genie that he found in a bottle while walking on the beach during a vacation.
As luck would have it the President happens to be away on another taxpayer funded trip so let's say this joke occurs on the sandy shores of Hawaii.
Read at The Political Commentator here.
Women's Seminar........................
A group of women were at a seminar on how to live in a loving relationship with your husband.
The women were asked, "How many of you love your husband?"
All the women raised their hands.
Then they were asked, "When was the last time you told your husband you loved him?"
Some women answered today, a few yesterday, and some couldn't remember.
The women were then told to take out their cell phones and text their husband: "I love you, sweetheart."
The women were then told to exchange phones with another person, and to read aloud the text message that they received, in response...
Here are some of the replies:
1. Who the hell is this?
2. He, mother of my children, are you sick or what?
3. Yeh, and I love you too. What's up with you??
4. What now? Did you crash the car again?
5. I don't understand what you mean?
6. What the f*ck did you do now?
7. ?!?
8. Don't beat about the bush, just tell me how much you need?
9. Am I dreaming?
10. If you don't tell me who this message is actually for, someone will die.
11. I thought we agreed you wouldn't drink during the day.
12. Your mother is coming to stay with us, isn't she??

Rich as an Argentinian?.....................from Rico
A century ago, Argentina was so prosperous that the phrase "rich as an Argentinian" was widely used to describe the uber-wealthy of the day.
- That was before successive governments managed to squander, fritter-away, over-regulates and generally piss-away that wealth. Now the phrase is meaningless, and has been somwhat 'supplanted' by something akin to "those d#%&ed rich Americans." To be an Argentinian today is to be poor as a church mouse.
Taking a look at the performance of major currencies vs. the USD for YTD 2013 gives a sneak preview [read: rerun] of what happens to a nation when its government squanders, fritters-away, over-regulates and generally pisses-away the wealth of their people.
- The venerable British Pound held its own.
- No surprise that the 'Swissie' did better, or that the Japanese Yen was almost the worst performer (save for Communist South Africa).
- BUT that the Argentine Peso performed head-and-shoulders above them all...and especially against the USD...should be cause for grave concern for everyone, especially Americans.
Guess who pointedly will NOT be told about this?
- Yeah, those lucky Americans who thanks to 'hope, change, and forward' are being 'fundamentally transformed' into poor church mice....without the church.

Just Push Back Against the ASA Boycotters. You'll Make Them Cry...
See, "The ASA Boycotters: Victims of Hatred and Harassment!"
They're claiming critics are "harassing" them on Facebook, and contacting their respective universities is an attempt silence their "academic freedom." The irony is pretty rich.

'A young woman with such a splendid rack would have no motive to adopt the victimhood mentality of feminism...'
Heh. I thought this might be a good entry for "Offend a Feminist Week."
From the irrepressible Robert Stacy McCain, "Obviously a Satire":
When Donald Douglas posted this photo at American Power, I immediately recognized it as an ironic put-down of feminism:Yeah, well, she has nice breasts.
Two key clues to the satirical intention:
*A poster in the background showing Austrian economists — Mises, Hayek, Rothbard, et al. — signals a libertarian/individualist orientation, directly contradicting the statist/collectivist radical egalitarian worldview of feminism; and
*Her breasts. A young woman with such a splendid rack would have no motive to adopt the victimhood mentality of feminism.
Check 'em out at the link (although trust me when I say you've been warned about women like this, lol!).

Kalashnikov Dies: Invented Weapon for the Global Revolutionary Insurgency
An interesting historical figure, "Mikhail Kalashnikov, 1919-2013."

Also:
More people are killed per year on average as a result of wars fueled by small arms and light weapons (including the AK-47) than were killed in the nuclear blasts at Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan in 1945. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo alone, it is estimated that more than a million people have died in that country’s recent civil war, fought primarily with small arms. The inability of governments to take seriously the damage caused by small arms and light weapons is a failure of major proportions.More at the full obituary.

Joyeux Santa Claus Rally, et bonne Recovery!.....................from Rico
Happy Days!
With the DJIA ~ 16,000 and the S&P ~ 1,800 and the US markets closing yesterday at their 48th record-high 'close' for the year, is THIS the annual Santa Claus rally?
- Well, not if you're one of the +50% of Americans that do not own ANY of these Fed-juiced equities.
But hey, there is a "recovery" happening according to the Career Politicians, the MSM and the Financial media, et al (aka the Forest Gump Alumni Association; for Libtards read: the stupid).
- Ignore the +20% unemployment rate, a labor force participation rate from ~1978, and a +10% inflation rate...besides, they aren't being truthfully 'reported' to you anyway.
Not to worry. Housing will lead the way FORWARD!
- Ignore that mortgage applications have dropped 66% from their peak in October 2012, or that "refi's" are down 73% in the last five months to a fresh 5-year low.
NO, the Grinch did not steal Christmas OR the Santa Claus Rally.
- Barry's war on coal made it an undesirable commodity to find in your stocking, and the US economy (for all the 'official' polishing it has gotten) instead remains a turd with the consistency of slightly-damp peat which was not worth stealing.

ZoNation: Christmas Isn't Christless
It's that time of year when many celebrate the birth of Jesus. Some just enjoy the theme aspect of the holiday. Some say you don't need Jesus to celebrate Christmas, and some are Bah Humbug over Christmas all together. But here's a commentary on some reasons why we celebrate the birth of the One many take for granted. Hear more in this ZoNation.

Merry Christmas 2013. Breakfast...................from Rico
It's Christmas Eve eve.
Instead of milk & cookies tomorrow, I was considering an MRE for dinner.
- Force of habit I guess, but a traditional pizza covered in sausage and pepperoni might just be the winner. We'll see.
No matter what, it WILL be bacon for Christmas breakfast!
- Everything is better with bacon.
And Christmas dinner? Hickory-smoked and dry-rubbed babyback ribs.
- Yes, there is a definite 'theme' of the forbidden pork at play here. It is purposeful.
Merry Christmas and Aloha Snackbar all y'awl!
